What is the ruling in Sharia concerning blood money for the right hand?

The blood money (Diyah) for the right or left hand is half the blood money for a soul, based on the hadith of Amr ibn Hazm, narrated from his father, which states that in the letter written for him by the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning blood money (A'qul): "Indeed, for a soul, there are a hundred camels... and for the hand, fifty." This is agreed upon, except for the teeth and the thumb. And for whatever consists of two parts, the full blood money is for both, and half of it for one of them.
