Is it permissible to work in a bank, knowing that there is a job opportunity in another bank, and few job opportunities in other sectors due to the financial crisis?

Working in usurious banks is forbidden because it involves assisting in sin. One should avoid these forbidden professions and rely on God, for God provides sustenance to those who fear Him from where they do not expect. Whoever abandons something for the sake of God, God will compensate him with something better. Therefore, one must seek livelihood through lawful means. "Indeed, the Holy Spirit has inspired in my soul that no soul shall die until it completes its term and receives its full sustenance. So, fear God and be moderate in seeking, and let not the delay in receiving sustenance lead anyone among you to seek it through disobedience to God, for indeed, what is with God cannot be attained except through obedience to Him."
