Is working in a non-Islamic bank permissible or forbidden?

Working in non-Islamic banks is not permissible, as it constitutes cooperation in sin and participation in usury, the perpetrator, scribe, and witnesses of which have been cursed. However, it is permissible to work in them out of necessity where there is a fear of perishing, and then the prohibition returns once the excuse is no longer present.
