It can be asserted that all who knew Al-Bukhari vouched for his reliability, except for Al-Dhuhli. Among those who attested to his trustworthiness was Imam Al-Nasa'i, who said: "Among all these books, none is better than the book of Muhammad ibn Isma'il." The scholars of Hadith have agreed that he was more knowledgeable in this art than Muslim. It was reported that Al-Daraqutni said: "Were it not for Al-Bukhari, Muslim would not have gone or come." Furthermore, Al-Tirmidhi relied on Al-Bukhari's authentication and weakening of Hadith. The people of Baghdad tested him with one hundred Hadith, whose chains of transmission (isnad) and texts (mutun) they had inverted, but he restored each chain of transmission to its correct text.
