Why were some things forbidden in this world, yet are permissible in Paradise?
Licitness and prohibition are in God's hands, and there is wisdom in them through which obedience or disobedience becomes apparent. A believer is not to object to God's judgment. In Paradise, obligation ceases and tribulation vanishes. God permits its inhabitants what He had forbidden them in the world as a reward for their patience, with a difference between the delights of this world and the Hereafter. The Quran has described the wine of Paradise as causing neither idle talk nor sin, having no headache in it, and not causing loss of intellect. Its color is white, unlike the wine of this world, which causes intoxication, headaches, and vomiting.
