What is the ruling on depositing money in Faisal Islamic Bank, and does the recovery of capital from bankrupt companies (which had a fixed interest rate) count as usury?

Depositing money in banks or companies with a specified interest and a condition of guaranteed deposits is usury (riba) which is forbidden. Whoever is involved in this must repent and withdraw their deposit immediately. As for the interest accrued from it, it must be spent on general Muslim welfare, based on the Almighty's saying: "But if you repent, you may have your principal – [thus] you do no wrong, nor are you wronged."
