It is not permissible to seek divorce because the husband married another woman, as this is a right permissible for him with its conditions. A severe warning has been mentioned for whoever seeks divorce without a legitimate excuse. If the husband does not divorce his first wife, she remains under his marital authority, and it is not permissible for her to refuse to fulfill his rights; otherwise, she would be sinful and disobedient. She must repent from abandoning her husband and not fulfilling his rights.
