The Hadith of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is what has been transmitted from him in terms of sayings, actions, approvals, descriptions (physical or moral), or biography. By this definition, it is synonymous with the Sunnah. It is difficult to enumerate the Hadith due to variations in narrations and wordings. What is required is to act upon the Sunnah, preserve it, and propagate it, for knowing the number does not substitute for acting upon it.
