Is it permissible to accuse female artists of zina (unlawful sexual intercourse)?

A distinction must be made between accusing a person of a major indecency (zina/fornication and sodomy) and accusing them of other faults. The first is qadhf (slanderous accusation), which necessitates a prescribed punishment (hadd), unlike the second. The expressions of qadhf vary in their clarity and ambiguity, and scholars divide them into explicit, allusive, and indirect. A distinction should be made between slandering a person of concealed state and one who openly commits فسق (transgression). The first is forbidden backbiting, while there is no harm in mentioning what is true about the second, for the purpose of warning against him. Nevertheless, qadhf of indecency is not permissible unless there is evidence from four witnesses who explicitly saw the act of zina.
