Is it permissible to work in distributing advertisements for a Jewish or Christian newspaper in Canada, given the unavailability of other work for four years?
It is permissible to work for newspapers if they are free of impermissible elements, such as being specialized in beneficial sciences, and provided that they do not contain forbidden images, false doctrines, or violations. However, if they contain Islamic violations, it is not permissible to work for them, as that would be cooperation in sin and transgression. It is important to remember the words of Allah Almighty: (And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect) [Quran 65:2-3], and "Whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better."
