Feeding a dog is an act of charity for which one is rewarded, for in every living being with a wet liver there is a reward. Merely providing food and drink to a dog is not considered ownership. However, after showing kindness to it, it should be driven away, because the unauthorized presence of a dog prevents the entry of angels.
