Is it permissible for a woman to be a witness in contracts?

It is permissible for a woman to be a witness in financial contracts, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿And call to witness two of your men. And if there are not two men [available], then a man and two women from those whom you accept as witnesses—so that if one of them errs, then the other can remind her.﴾ The verse has stipulated the wisdom behind her testimony being half that of a man's, which has been scientifically proven: that forgetfulness is more prevalent among women than men. This is not absolute; rather, it applies to financial transactions and the like. There are instances where the testimony of women alone is accepted, even if it is just one woman, and instances where a woman's testimony is not accepted.
