Is it permissible for the groom's family to open the bride's bags and place her belongings in the closets against her will, under the pretext of helping, and according to prevailing custom?

Respecting the privacy of others is a legitimate Islamic principle. It is not permissible to dispose of anything that pertains to a person without their permission, such as taking their money or entering their house, except with their consent. Therefore, it is not permissible to open a girl's bag without her permission, even if the intention is to help, or if custom dictates it, as long as the girl does not consent to it. However, despite it being impermissible, if the girl does not fear harm, it is better for her not to refuse in order to avoid disputes. She can keep what she does not wish people to see out of sight.
