The fundamental principle is that phone calls are private between the caller and the recipient, and it is not permissible for the recipient to turn on the loudspeaker or record the call without the caller's permission. This prohibition becomes even stronger if the caller is a woman and the listener is a man. Indeed, a severe warning has been mentioned for those who secretly listen to people's conversations: molten lead will be poured into their ears on the Day of Resurrection. Recording a call without the speaker's permission is deceit, a betrayal of trust, and an infringement on justice.
