He said: If you are as you say, then it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes, and there will always be a supporter from Allah against them as long as you remain upon that.» Islamic law has not specified a particular method or amount for maintaining kinship ties; rather, this varies according to circumstances and customs. If refraining from visiting your sister and congratulating her on her newborn is considered an act of severing ties according to custom, then it is not permissible. We advise you to visit your sister and congratulate her on her newborn, for whoever desires that his provision be expanded and his lifespan extended should maintain ties of kinship.
