What is the ruling on a woman working as a masseuse for all types of people, considering the consequent exposure to and touching of 'awrah (private parts)?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is permissible for a woman to work as a masseuse for women or for her male mahrams, provided that she does not expose or touch the awrah (private parts) except out of necessity or urgent need. It is not permissible for her to massage non-mahram men, due to the temptation involved in touching, which is more severe than the temptation of looking, and both are forbidden. For everyone whom it is forbidden to look at, it is also forbidden to touch, and touching is more severe.
