Building mosques and contributing to them, giving charity to orphans and the poor in a way that its benefit remains, and donating prayer rugs as waqf for worshippers—all of these are considered ongoing charity (sadaqah (definition) jariyah) whose reward reaches the deceased if the doer intends it on their behalf.
