How can I lengthen my bowing (rukūʿ) and prostration (sujūd)? May Allah reward you with a thousandfold goodness.
The jurists have defined the length of bowing (rukūʿ) and prostration (sujūd) by the number of times one says "Subhanallah" (Tasbih) in them. The minimum sufficient is one Tasbih, the perfect is ten or seven Tasbihs, the moderate is five, and the least is three. A person praying alone may prolong it as much as they wish, as long as they do not fall into forgetfulness (sahw). An Imam prolongs it according to the congregation, and the follower (Ma'mum) follows the Imam.
