The husband must be just between his two wives in allotting time, which refers to overnight stays. The default is that the division is for the night, with the day following it. However, the opposite may occur if the husband's work conditions or similar circumstances necessitate it. If the husband's work is from 'Asr (late afternoon) until Fajr (dawn), his allotted time would be during the day, meaning from Fajr until 'Asr, alternating one day for this wife and one day for that wife. It is permissible for him to be with one wife from Fajr until Zawwal (midday), and with the other from Zawwal until 'Asr, then reverse this arrangement the following day. However, for him to always be with one wife from Fajr until Zawwal and with the other from Zawwal until 'Asr, this is an injustice due to the disparity in the two time periods. Any division that the husband and his wives agree upon is permissible, but the husband should beware of injustice.
