Is it permissible to sell counterfeit clothing that was purchased before knowing the ruling of prohibition in order to recover its value, and is it permissible to buy counterfeit brands prevalent in the markets?

It is not permissible to infringe upon the trademark or trade name of brands, as this constitutes clear forgery and is forbidden by Islamic law. Copyrights, inventions, and innovations are protected by Islamic law, and they are financial rights belonging to their owners, which may not be violated. There is no sin upon a person for what they purchased before knowing the impermissibility of such an act, due to their ignorance. However, after coming to know the ruling, it is not permissible to sell counterfeit products unless the usurped name and forged trademark are removed.
