Is it permissible for a son to eat and drink from his father's ill-gotten wealth, and to eat food from his shop that is financed by haram money? And is it permissible to eat food associated with innovation (bid'ah), such as dates offered after a communal recitation of the Qur'an?

Scholars differed regarding the ruling on one who trades with prohibited capital. The more accurate opinion is that he is entitled to half the earnings, and must dispose of the other half. It is not forbidden for a child to benefit from his father's mixed wealth. Furthermore, offering dates after finishing the recitation of the Qur'an is not a blameworthy innovation, and there is no harm in eating from them.
