What is the authenticity of the story of the Companion Nu'ayman ibn Amr al-Ansari, when he borrowed fruit and gave it to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, then refused to return it or pay for it, so the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, paid on his behalf and laughed?

The two Sheikhs (Bukhari and Muslim) narrated that there was a man called "Himār" (Donkey) because he used to make the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, laugh. The Prophet used to flog him for (drinking) wine. On one occasion, a man from the people cursed him, so the Prophet forbade him from doing that and said: "Do not curse him, for by Allah, I only know that he loves Allah and His Messenger." He used to gift the Prophet butter and honey, and the Prophet would instruct him to pay its price.
