What is the ruling on visiting a patient with an infectious disease?

It is prescribed to avoid entering the house of a person with an infectious disease, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not put a sick person with a healthy one," and "Flee from the leper as you would flee from a lion." One can visit his family, inquire about his condition, supplicate for him, and help with his medication.
