Is it permissible to ask a Muslim whether food offered by a Christian or a Jew is halal or contains pork, or should one remain silent, say "Bismillah," and eat?

It is permissible to accept a gift from a non-Muslim for reasons of kinship,邻里关系, or to foster affection and invite them to Islam. However, it is forbidden if the gift is given out of love and friendship, as Allah Almighty says: (O YOU WHO HAVE BELIEVED, DO NOT TAKE THE JEWS AND THE CHRISTIANS AS ALLIES). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, accepted gifts from non-Muslims.

As for eating the meat slaughtered by a Jew or a Christian, it is permissible under two conditions: that the animal is slaughtered like a Muslim would slaughter it, by cutting the windpipe and esophagus and letting the blood flow, and that the name of Allah Almighty is mentioned over it, not the name of anyone else. If the situation is unknown, it is permissible to eat without inquiring about the method of slaughter, according to the hadith of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, and this is from the ease granted by Allah.

There is no harm in eating fish, sweets, and vegetables from them, as long as it is not known that they contain anything forbidden, such as alcohol or pig fat. Prohibition is not established merely by doubt. For those who seek piety, it is better not to eat anything unless they are certain it is free from forbidden elements.
