Is reading the "seven verses of sufficiency" during hardship sound, and what is their source?

There is no Sharia (definition)-based evidence that specifies certain verses called "Ayat al-Kifayah" (Verses of Sufficiency), and what is mentioned about them might be merely a preference by some people. It has been authentically established in the Sunnah (definition) that reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas (definition), Al-Falaq, and An-Nas three times in the morning and evening suffices one from everything. Also, saying "Hasbiyallahu la ilaha illa Huwa, alayhi tawakkaltu, wa Huwa Rabbul Arshil Azeem" (Sufficient for me is Allah; there is no god except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne) seven times in the morning and evening suffices one for whatever worries him concerning the affairs of this world and the Hereafter. There is no harm in reciting verses from the Quran for protection or other purposes. However, it is better to disseminate what is established in the texts of revelation to encourage people to obey Allah and adhere to His laws. The benefit of these specific properties is for those whose hearts are sincere to Allah, and who ponder over the Book and act upon it.
