Is it permissible to compare the prohibition of shaking hands and shaving the beard to the prohibition of alcohol, as if to say to someone: "If you abstain from alcohol due to its prohibition, then why do you shake hands with foreign women or shave your beard, even though both are forbidden?"

There is no harm in comparing forbidden things to obligate a person to understand that all of them are forbidden, even though they vary in their degree of prohibition. It is better to sharpen his resolve and remind him of Allah and the Hereafter so that his faith may increase.
