What is the ruling of the Sharia regarding a woman who killed her infant because she did not know his lineage?

A woman committed the greatest of crimes by killing an innocent life. She must repent sincerely for the murder and adultery. The mother is not to be killed for killing her child, according to the preponderant opinion, but she must pay blood money (diyah) to the child's heirs, and she inherits nothing from it. The child is attributed to her husband because he is the master of the bed.
