What is the reason that Allah's Prophet Ibrahim requested Jannat An-Na'im instead of Al-Firdaws, and what is the difference between the two?

The verse, Allah Almighty's words on the tongue of Abraham (peace be upon him): "And make me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight," can be interpreted in two ways:

First: That "Garden of Delight" (Jannat al-Na'im) and "Firdaws" are two names for one entity. So, Firdaws is a name for the entire Garden, and for its highest and best part, while "Gardens of Delight" is a comprehensive name for all the Gardens.

Second: That the Gardens of Delight are higher or better than the Garden of Firdaws, or that they are the most specific part of Firdaws, being the reward for the foremost and the near ones. Some exegetes have mentioned that the Gardens are multiple, and that the Garden of Delight might be one of them.

The most preponderant view is that "Garden of Delight" in the verse means asking for the Garden where the perfection of enjoyment in all its forms is realized, and this includes attaining the highest and best ranks of the Garden.
