Is it permissible to retract a gift of gold given to a daughter by her mother, after the daughter’s maternal aunt had gifted it to the mother herself, knowing that the mother has another son and does not wish to give him anything?

There is no blame on the mother for taking back a gift she gave to her daughter if the daughter had not accepted it. Even if she had accepted it, the mother is allowed to retract her gift to her daughter, according to the preponderant opinion of jurists, by analogy with the father in this matter. This is because she is one of the two parents, and because justice among children in giving gifts is obligatory for the mother just as it is for the father.
