Is what my brother Muhammad - who died as a result of a severe psychological shock caused by bombs being dropped on his house and mosque - was exposed to considered indirect killing that necessitates blood money (Diyya), especially since we have medical reports proving the severity of the psychological shock and witnesses to the incident?

The soul of a believer is great in the sight of Allah Almighty, and the recompense for intentionally killing a believer is Hellfire. Killing can also occur through intimidation and shouting that lead to psychological injuries, such as when someone brandishes a sword in a person's face and they die from fright, or shouts suddenly at them and they die, or throws a snake at them and they die of terror. In this case, the person is considered to have been killed in a semi-intentional killing, and the aggravated blood money is obligatory for their heirs, to be paid by the 'aqilah (male agnates) of their killer.
