Is the saying: "Be moderate in everything, except in your self-esteem, for then you should transgress," correct?

The phrase, "Be moderate in everything except in your self-esteem, for then you should be tyrannical," is not religiously sound. Moderation is praiseworthy and commanded absolutely in everything without exception, for the Muslim is a balanced nation. Tyranny, however, is absolutely forbidden and blameworthy in all circumstances. The self-esteem that is religiously praiseworthy is protecting oneself from baseness and vices, whereas exceeding the limit in it is considered blameworthy arrogance and haughtiness.
