Is it permissible to supplicate for the removal of rancor from the hearts of believing men and women, despite the argument that a believer's heart does not contain rancor, and that the presence of rancor suggests hypocrisy?

It is permissible to supplicate for the removal of rancor from the hearts of believers, because its presence does not contradict the root of faith, but rather diminishes its perfection. The evidence for this is the Almighty's saying: "And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of rancor" [Al-A'raf: 43]. Here, He affirmed faith for those mentioned at the beginning of the verse, then stated that He would remove rancor from them on the Day of Resurrection. This removal is the elimination of the rancor that was in their hearts in this world, and the purification of their souls from evil thoughts, so that the rancor of some of them towards others will be removed.
