I want an interpretation of verse 30 of Surat An-Nur.

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Verse 30 of Surah An-Nur commands believing men and women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts from that which is unlawful to do or look at. This is purer and better for them, and Allah is All-Aware of what they do. It also forbids believing women from displaying their adornment except what is apparent, such as the face and hands. They must cover their heads, necks, and chests, and not display their hidden adornment except to the maharim mentioned in the verse. The verse also prohibits striking the feet to reveal hidden adornment and calls upon all believers to repent so they may achieve success.
