Is it obligatory to obey a father who forbids his son from enjoining good and forbidding evil, and threatens and warns him if he does not abandon his activism?

Enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong is a collective obligation (fard kifaya). It becomes an individual obligation for someone who witnesses a wrong and there is no one else to denounce it, and they are capable of doing so. The obligation to denounce a wrong is lifted if one fears significant harm, such as beating or imprisonment, or if one predominantly believes that their denunciation will be ineffective. This is a respectable opinion supported by statements from some scholars. Therefore, denunciation should be done with wisdom, gentleness, and mildness, in private, and one should avoid repeating the denunciation if it is mostly ineffective, due to the potential harm that might result.
