What is the ruling on announcing lost items and lost children in the mosque?

It is not permissible to announce lost items in the mosque, whether by microphone or without, due to the prohibition of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding it. As for announcing lost children, there are two opinions: prohibition, as it falls under the prohibition of seeking lost property; and permissibility, on the grounds that a human being is not mere lost property and because preserving life is a religious necessity. The opinion of permissibility is more evident.
