Is it permissible for us to stop having children to spare them harm due to marital problems?

Marital problems are common, and the important thing is to deal with them wisely and with mutual respect. The existence of problems does not justify not having children, for procreation is a shared right of the spouses and it is not permissible to stop it except with their mutual consent. One should pray for the righteousness of the wife and offspring.
