What is the scientific methodology followed in the narration of Hadith?

The Hadith scholars followed a methodology for accepting the noble Hadith, stipulating five conditions: the uprightness (عدالة) of the narrators, the precision (ضبط) of the narrator, the continuity (اتصال) of the chain of transmission, the absence of anomaly (شذوذ), and the absence of a debilitating defect (علة قادحة). By this methodology, the scholars preserved the Hadith of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
