It is not permissible for the wife to save anything from the family's expenses for herself or for others without the explicit or customary permission of her husband. The wife must inform her husband of what she does, and if he does not give permission, she must return the saved amount to him. What she spent on the family as a donation cannot be reclaimed. If she has a right to the house as a result of her participation in its construction, and not as a donation, then she has the right to demand that her share be written for her, or to relinquish it.
