What is the ruling on one who loves his children and wealth more than Allah, but this is not a love of worship?

It is from the perfection of faith that a Muslim loves Allah and His Messenger more than himself and his wealth. Prioritizing the love of wealth or children over the love of Allah is an indication of incomplete faith. Many people do not reach certainty and jihad, and they do not possess the strength of love for Allah and His Messenger to prioritize it over family and wealth. If they are tested with doubts, they may even descend into hypocrisy. If a Muslim’s love for his children and wealth—a love that is not worship—is greater than his love for Allah, this is an indication of his incomplete faith, and he must strive against himself and supplicate frequently to ascend in the degrees of perfect faith.
