Is the word "wajada" (found) in the verse {Until, when he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of dark mud, and he found by it a people} appropriate to describe the sunset, especially since it was used to describe a real finding of people, and does this indicate a deficiency in understanding the meanings of words, or does it call for a re-examination of scientific theories?

The Quran is miraculous in its eloquence and rhetoric. Allah challenged the Arabs with it, and they were incapable, and the challenge and miraculousness continue until the Day of Judgment. The word "wajada" (found) in the verse means seeing. Interpreters have explained the verse to mean that Dhu al-Qarnayn saw the sun setting in the ocean from his perspective, and this is a sight observed by anyone standing on the seashore.
