The question

Is staying up late to study during high school, and sleeping in the morning, considered a violation of Allah’s way in the universe for which a person will be held accountable? And does prioritizing studying lessons over attending Quran memorization circles displease Allah and remove the blessing from studying?

The answer

There is no harm in studying at night, but it is better to observe Allah's sunnah (way) in the universe. It is permissible to stay up late out of necessity, provided that Fajr prayer is not missed. Moreover, working in the early part of the day is more blessed, beneficial, and successful than working in its latter part. It is not only high school that is the most important period in a person's life; rather, what leads to Allah's pleasure is more important. It is not obligatory for everyone to memorize the Qur'an except Al-Fatihah, but memorization is recommended. It is permissible to forgo memorization when there is a necessary need for studying.
