Is it possible that what the questioner did, looking at maharem after the death of his mother and grandmother, could lead to a punishment from God inflicted upon his family, and what is the path to repentance?

It is absolutely forbidden to look at the 'awrah (private parts) of another, except for one's wife, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "A man should not look at the 'awrah of another man, nor should a woman look at the 'awrah of another woman." However, if the observer is a child who has not reached puberty, there is no sin upon them, based on the Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "The pen has been lifted from three: from the sleeper until he awakens, from the child until he reaches puberty, and from the insane person until he regains his sanity." As for looking after puberty, there is sin in it, but it does not necessarily mean that a person will be punished with the same sin concerning their family. This punishment is not applicable to the repentant, for repentance erases what came before it, and one who repents from a sin is like one who has no sin.
