If a wine drinker has a legal ruling, then what is the ruling for someone who consumes usury?

The punishment for drinking alcohol is eighty or forty lashes. As for the one who consumes usury, there is no prescribed legal punishment for him; rather, his punishment is discretionary (ta'zeer), determined by the ruler. Usury is among the seven destructive sins and is more gravely prohibited than drinking alcohol. A dirham of usury knowingly consumed by a man is more severe than thirty-six acts of adultery. Usury has seventy categories of sinfulness, the least of which is like a man marrying his mother.
