Is it permissible to like posts of immodestly dressed or unveiled women, and is that considered an encouragement to them?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is forbidden for a woman to post her unveiled picture on Facebook and other sites. The sin and prohibition become greater if the picture reveals her charms. Liking these posts is considered a form of approval, especially if it comes from scholars or religious people. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded to change evil with one's hand, tongue, or heart. Whoever sees a sin and dislikes it is like one who did not witness it, and whoever is absent from it but approves of it is like one who witnessed it, because approval of sins is among the most heinous forbidden acts and negates the denunciation of evil by the heart. Therefore, whoever shows admiration for such posts has violated the command of denunciation.
