ما هي كفارة التسبب في قتل عصفور بالخطأ نتيجة نسيان قفصه في الشرفة؟

There is no harm in the questioner keeping the bird captive as long as she does not intend to harm or kill it, due to Allah's saying: "And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred, but [there is blame for] what your hearts intended," and due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah has pardoned for my Ummah their mistakes, their forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do." The sin is upon whoever intentionally keeps an animal captive with the intention of harming it and starving it, as in the hadith of the cat because of which a woman entered Hellfire. It is recommended to perform some good deeds, such as giving charity.
