What is the wisdom behind the existence of orphans who have neither a mother nor a father?
Orphanhood is a great trial with which Allah has blessed His Prophet. The Sharia has urged the care and honor of the orphan, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, promised Paradise to the one who sponsors an orphan. Among the wisdoms of being afflicted with orphanhood are: expiation of sins and earning reward, and demonstrating compassion among believers. Orphanhood may also be better for the orphan than having parents who do not raise him well. It stimulates a person's energies and opens the door for the servant to feel his need for Allah, and every trial pushes the servant to supplicate to his Lord.
