Is breastfeeding during pregnancy forbidden, as I am pregnant and breastfeeding my second child?

Muslim reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: "I had intended to forbid ghilah, until I remembered that the Romans and Persians do that, and it does not harm their children."

Scholars have differed regarding the meaning of ghilah. It has been said that it is: intercourse with a nursing mother, and it has also been said that it is: a pregnant woman nursing.

Accordingly, a pregnant woman nursing is permissible as long as it does not harm the suckling child or endanger the fetus. This can be determined by consulting a trustworthy doctor.
