Is a husband sinful if he continued to be intimate with his wife from the time of Ishā' until Fajr and did not pray Ishā' on time, due to his inability to control his desire?

The Sharia prohibits prayer in the presence of food or while repelling the two impurities (feces and urine), as this distracts one from having khushu' (devotion) in prayer. Scholars have analogized to this anything that distracts the worshipper, such as sexual intercourse. Scholars differed on the permissibility of delaying prayer beyond its prescribed time for such excuses. The majority of scholars held the view that it is impermissible and that one must strive against oneself to perform the prayer on time. Others, however, permitted it out of consideration for achieving khushu', such as Ibn al-Qayyim and العلامة العثيمين (Allama Al-Uthaymeen). The correct view is that if one fears missing the prayer time, one should pray despite the impediment, in preservation of the sanctity of the prayer time. As for the man and woman who are overcome by lust to the extent that they cannot achieve khushu' in prayer, some scholars have permitted them to delay the prayer beyond its time for this excuse, even though the majority of scholars hold a differing view. It is obligatory upon them to offer sincere repentance and to make up the prayers that were delayed beyond their prescribed times.
