Does Sheikh Abd al-Majid al-Zindani believe that it is impermissible for a layperson to imitate (taqlid) in matters of creed, and does one who holds this view believe in the soundness of the layperson's creed?

The majority of scholars hold that a common person is not obligated to know the proofs of beliefs, and it suffices for them to follow authority (taqleed) in this matter. This is because burdening the common people with knowing the proofs involves great hardship, and because they do not comprehend them. This was the practice of the righteous predecessors, and deviating from this could lead to declaring common Muslims disbelievers.
