What is the ruling on making up intermittent missed prayers whose number and order are not remembered? And is order obligatory in making them up?

Abandoning the obligatory prayers is one of the greatest sins. Whoever abandons them in denial of their obligation has committed disbelief (kufr). As for one who abandons them while acknowledging their obligation, there is a difference of opinion regarding their disbelief.

The majority of scholars hold that it is obligatory to make up missed prayers, whether they were abandoned intentionally, out of ignorance, or forgetfulness.

If the worshipper knows their number, they should make them up. If they do not know their number, they should make up what they predominantly believe they owe.

It is advisable to make them up in order, starting with the first prayer missed. If they cannot remember, they should start with Dhuhr, then Asr, and so on.

The order of making up missed prayers is recommended, not obligatory, according to many jurists, especially if there are many.

If one does not know the exact prayer they missed but knows they missed some prayers on a particular day, they must make up all five prayers, starting from Dhuhr and ending with Fajr.
